The Tread Lightly Caravan

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my Blog! Last week we went to the Tread lightly caravan and we did 3 different stations. The first station I did was go around the school find all the drains everywhere in school. Me and my partner got 27 but Hepi and Peitynn found the most of 38 drains in school. The second event we did was the inside station when we would do three different things. We learnt about the wetlands in the mountains and how they have a big role to play. When it rains in the mountains and there is heaps of water it goes into the wetlands an the rocks, dirt, and the soil helps evaporate the water so there are no floods. Then another activity we did inside was a where we coloured in a picture of a wetland with a pukeko and then we got a phone or a ipad and we scanned the photo and the pukeko moved around on the screen. My favourite one of all when we were inside was the VR headset we got to use it was about the pollution underwater and the animals that are endangered. After all that fun we got to go do the great drain game. The great drain game was about how to take care of our environment. Here is a little rhyme for you 

only rain down the drain. We learnt that oil and liquid is not supposed to go down the drain because over night it will get cold and the oil or liquird will freeze and block the pipes for your whole street.
