The Secret of Jelly Mountain By Des Hunt

The Secret of Jelly Mountain

Hey Bloggers! In Term One, we all got a novel to read. My groups novel was The Secret of Jelly Mountain By Des Hunt. We read 2-3 chapters every lesson till we had finished the book. While we read the book we had Comprehension Questions and little activities we had to do. These activities were all about the chapters we read that week. I did 2 sets of comprehension questions and 2 activities. One of the activities was a cause and effect map where we had to type in the problem and then next to that, the event and the effect it will have. Lastly, a little statement at the bottom.
My favourite part of the book was the ending. It was my favourite because Jason and Jessy (the twins in the story) save the tuatara from being extinct.
They work together to stop Shawn Morris and his friends (the antagonist) from taking the Tuatara. We have been talking about themes for the past term and some of the themes I think are in the story are determination because Jason and Jessy were really trying to stop Shawn Morris and his friends from doing the wrong thing. Also, another one was greediness, because Shawn Morris had heaps of money and was rich he had everything he wanted but he wanted to sell the Tuatara so he could have more money.
I like Des Hunt books because they are all about New Zealand and they always have a very big problem but in the end of the story they always have a great creative soluition to the problem. I've read some other Des Hunt books and they are amazing.
