Supermarket

The Supermarket food for thought!🤔

Hey Bloggers! On the 23rd of October we went to the supermarket - New World. Before we went we had two sessions with Isabelle. Isabelle is from the company 'Food for Thought' and she came to teach us about healthy foods. The first session we had with her we talked about the different parts in
the food pyramid. After we talked about it we got in groups of 4 and had to label all the different foods in the right section of the pyramid. Isabelle came and checked it then we had to pack it away and be ready for the quiz at the end. I learnt so much about the different types of foods.

The second session we had it was about the 'sometimes' drinks that we have and that we shouldn't have. We had to get into groups of 3 to 6 and Isabelle gave us a little bag full of photos. The photos were of different drinks that people drink all the time. We had to put them in order of healthiest to the least healthiest. After this was done Isabelle checked it and most of my group's were right. Once we had put them away we sat on the mat and Isabelle put the drinks in order. When she put it in order she told us how much sugar there was in each bottle. The highest was around 32 teaspoons of sugar and the maximum for kids is 5 teaspoons per day.

Then the next week we went to New World. When we went we were put in groups and given a piece of paper. On the paper were the things we had to look for in the shop like Milk/Dairy products, Breads, Cereals, muesli bars, and snacks. In each row we had to find the healthiest choice and the unhealthiest choice and fill in the nutritional values for each of them. We went around in our groups finding different things. At the end we flipped it around and had to write down all the vegetables and fruits we saw. Then when it was time to leave Isabelle gave us a $60 Voucher for New World and we all got lunch boxes.,
Hope you enjoyed! Blog you later!
