Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2

Kia Ora Bloggers! Today I will be blogging my 2nd day doing Summer learning journey. I really hope you read my other blog and enjoyed it. Hope you like this to.

Activity 1
My activity for today is to compare and Contrast two amazing and famous pilots. They are both female. Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart which they are both famous for flying a long distance. Sadly Amelia disappeared trying to fly around the world. Jean Batten did well and she flew from England to Australia and from England to New Zealand. Both are very famous for doing all of the long distance flights they did.

Activity 2

I chose to do a acrostic poem. Just in case you don't know Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. He was a very good inspiration to many people. So here is what I think he felt when he was on the moon. I hope you like it!!

Activity 3
This activity was really funny when I read what I had to do. This task is to tell you when I did something really brave with someone I know. So I will tell you something brave I did at camp.

So this year I went to snow camp where we went to Mt Ruapehu. Mt Ruapehu to those that don't know what it is its a snow mountain. This was the first time I touched snow and I was really excited. On the second day I went we got to go on the Chairlift. A chair lift is a chair that goes up the mountain and really high. You have to make sure you get off at the right time. When I went on for the first time with Hosanna a string on my jacket got caught in the side on the chair and I didn't realize till when we had to hop off. I got off but the chair dragged me with it. I was so scared and I was laughing. The brave thing I did was go on again and this time I tucked the string in my pocket. Oh and when I was dragged the man had to stop the chairlift all for me. The embarrassing bit was that my class mates saw and were laughing

My Family comes from the island of Samoa. Both my parents come from Samoa. My Mum she is from Samoa but my Dad is from American Samoa. American Samoa is called this because that part of the country is owned and belongs to the America State. The important things to my family is Church. Church and the gospel is one things that is important to us. Something else that is special is our *aiga. *Aiga in English means Family. Family is the most important thing within our family. Everyone in our family means a lot to all of us. Well as you can see I am from Samoa so the native language in my county is Samoan. I, myself speak English and I know some things in Samoan like Sau ( Come ), Fa'amolemole ( Please ) ect. My Parents speak Samoan fluently since they grew up in Samoa then came to New Zealand. Sometimes when they talk they say things in Samoan and then tell me what it means after I try think what it means (Get it wrong 75% of the time). Everything I know about my culture is amazing things. My favourite thing about Samoa is the clear water. It's Amazing!

I hope all the people in Samoa are okay as there is a measles out break!

*Aiga This means family. You say it like         I - ing - a

Activity 3

Image result for spcaHey bloggers! This activity actually has to be my favourite. For this activity I have to choose a Charity that we are interested in. Then tell you all the awesome things they do for people or animals. The one I want to do is SPCA. The reason I chose this one is because it is an amazing thing they do for animals and because I love animals.

The things that the SPCA do is amazing. They help animals that have been treated bad, injured, or just abandoned. SPCA stands for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They help animals and that is the thing I love about them. Did you know that they save 40,000 animals every year. They are really cool and something even cooler is that they don't get paid for what they do because it is a charity. SPCA also relocate animals that aren't being treated right. They call it Shelter, rehome, Reunite. They are fantastic and they relies on us to help because they don't get government support in money so when you donate you are saving the lifes of animals.
SPCA are just great people who save many animals so please donate to them!!
