The Underwater Adventure

My Narrative
Talofa Lava, Fakalofa lahi atu, Bonjour, Bula, Kia Ora, and hello, welcome back to my blog. Well today I am blogging all about my narrative that I have been working on last term. Last term we were given a task to first choose a image off one a slide that the teachers had made for us. I had such a hard time choosing they were all so interesting and some looked very funny but I had chosen one and then I changed it and I kept that one. The one I chose was a very cool one but not much people chose it. My one that I had chosen had two divers and a big shipwreck here it is!
Here is the link

My narritive is about two boys that are twins that have never been to a different country and they stay with their Aunty next to a beach. Their Parents died when they were young and they grew up with out their parents and they hardly knew them. They have no other siblings and they are 18 year old. They love scuba diving and thats how they go to different countries they explore the under waters together and they will never give it up. They also meet some sharks and thats all I am going to tell you because I don't want to spoil it for you!
Hope you enjoy the story!!!

Gumboot Friday

Gumboot Friday
Aloha Bloggers and welcome back to my blog! Last Friday was an awesome day it was Gumboot Friday. Gumboot Friday is all about Fundraising for Mental health. Everyone in New Zealand is encouraged to where Gumboots on Gumboot day. It is called Gumboot Friday because Mike King said when you have Mental health it is like you are wading through mud. Mike King is aiming to raise $2 million for Gumboot day and has raised 836,000 for Gumboot day. Mike King won New Zealander of the year in 2018.  At school we made nice cards for Mental Health on Gumboot Friday. On the cards we had to write a uplifting quote or something kind on it. We also had to draw a little symbols on the front of the to make it look nice and as a little decoration. Also we had to write on the back of the card supporting Mental health. Then we would write from Senior Syndicate and at the bottom of that Waikowhai Primary School. We got the idea of writing cards and putting them in letter boxes when some of the students in the Senior Syndicate were chosen to fill in a little booklet. The Puketapapa booklet questionnaire had some questions about what we should do to help more and do more things for and some students chose Mental Health. Underneath that was what we could do more and you could write what you think we all should do more about that topic you chose. One of the girls who did the booklet her name was Neeve she chose Mental health and she wrote we could write cards and put them in letter boxes. The teachers read it and thought it was a good idea. And that's where we got our idea from.

This was a very good thing to do because it is related to our inquiry topic this year. Our Inquiry topic is Hauora-Wellbeing it relates to our inquiry topic because it lifts people's spirits and people are happy after they read the notes. Wellbeing is is about you and how you feel and the cards had nice and positive comments and quotes so that could lift other people's spirits. We all split in to about 8 groups and we went different ways to hand out the cards to random houses. One group went down Quona Ave and our old Deputy Principal Mrs Sarah Ellen lives down that road and we put a card in her letter box and when she saw it that made her day and she emailed the school and said she was very grateful for the card and she said thank you to the Waikowhai Primary School Senior Syndicate. We also put it in another card about Mental Health in someone's mailbox and her son read the card and that little card brightened up her son and changed him. One little act of kindness can change a person!
One word can change someone's entire day.

Tread Lightly Caravan

The Tread Lightly Caravan

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my Blog! Last week we went to the Tread lightly caravan and we did 3 different stations. The first station I did was go around the school find all the drains everywhere in school. Me and my partner got 27 but Hepi and Peitynn found the most of 38 drains in school. The second event we did was the inside station when we would do three different things. We learnt about the wetlands in the mountains and how they have a big role to play. When it rains in the mountains and there is heaps of water it goes into the wetlands an the rocks, dirt, and the soil helps evaporate the water so there are no floods. Then another activity we did inside was a where we coloured in a picture of a wetland with a pukeko and then we got a phone or a ipad and we scanned the photo and the pukeko moved around on the screen. My favourite one of all when we were inside was the VR headset we got to use it was about the pollution underwater and the animals that are endangered. After all that fun we got to go do the great drain game. The great drain game was about how to take care of our environment. Here is a little rhyme for you
only rain down the drain. We learnt that oil and liquid is not supposed to go down the drain because over night it will get cold and the oil or liquird will freeze and block the pipes for your whole street.

The special Assembly

The Memorial Assembly

Hello again my bloggers! Our School has acknowledges the tragedy that happened in Christchurch the 15th of March 2019. If you don't know what happened it was a mass attack at two different Mosques Al Noor and Linwood Mosque. It was a very sad day, the man who did it was caught by the police before he went to another Mosque. Our class was very sad so we decided to make cards for the Mosque's and the schools who went in lock down for about 4 hours and our whole school planted a kowhai tree in remembrance of that day. We are now going to get a little sign to say why we have the kowhai tree.

Our awesome teachers made a document on the Christchurch accident. On the Document it has photos and things all about the Mass Shooting. Also on the page it had a link to the Give a Little page. On the give a little page you can give abit of Money to Christchurch for the Families of the people who have died. You can Give as Little as $5.00 on the page, our teacher Miss Daly gave $20.00 on the page and that was just enough to help the people in Christchurch. We had a Family fun Day for everyone in the community. At 1:30 we stopped and gathered at the courts and listened to the word of prayer and did a two minute silence for the people who were hurt or died.

The Ripper Rugby!

Ripper Rugby Zones

Wow! The Waikowhai Ripper Rugby team is so amazing!!! Ten kids were chosen to go represent Waikowhai Primary School at Ripper Rugby Zones on Tuesday last week. Only 7 students could play a time with 3 subs. The students went to Cox's Bay with about 20 other schools there. They played 5 amazing games, won 3 games but lost two games. They met one of the kids that used to come to our school. They came in the top eight but unfortunately they did not make it in the top 3 but they came 6th which is still amazing because there were about 20 other schools there.
Fact: Our awesome Waikowhai team went to go play a game but that team did not turn up so they did 5 vs 5 against each other. I learnt that the Waiowhai students are one of the best Ripper rugby teams in the middle of Auckland.

Hope you enjoy looking at the photos Feel free to comment down below. Thanks! Blog you later!!

Angelina's Getting to know you

Talofa lava and Hello Bloggers!
Welcome to 2019, bloggers! I can't wait to share all my hard work with you starting with this piece of work. Te Waka Ako has been doing a Getting To Know You sheet. A getting to know you sheet is when you tell people all about you so they can know you better! You tell people who your friends are, what you are good at and what you like and don't like. You have to describe and use as many details as you can. I really enjoyed doing what I like because it was easy and really positive. It was challenging to do it, but we managed to get it done. Hope you enjoy reading my Getting To Know You sheet.

Week two Day three

Activity one First you sea me now you don't.......

Hey bloggers!!! Today's Activity for Summer learning Journey is to say weather or not I am an owl or an early riser. Then describe the rest of my family.

I would have to be a both because an night owl is someone who stays up late and an early riser is someone who wakes up early. I do both I would stay up late and wake up early maybe if I go sleep at 10:00pm I would wake up at around 7:00aam.

Now my family well they are the same as me but my little brother and my sister sometimes if all the family woke up at 8:00am they would sleep till 9:00am or sometimes even to 10:00am. My sister Lavinia sleeps in the latest even though sometimes she goes sleep first. My brother Dustine sleeps in alot most of the time. My other brother Conroy he and my dad wake up early to play PS3 but sometimes my Dad wakes up to go to the gym. Me and my Mum wake up early to clean and to have breakfast but me most of the time I wake up but don't get out of bed till someone else wakes up then we all watch TV.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I did. Make sure you comment down below. Blog you later.
