Film Festival 2019!

The Hero!

Hey bloggers! Today I will be blogging about the amazing film festival we had this term. This term we started to do filming. We started filming at the start of term 3 and we finished around August the 18th just before camp. We made films and entered 3 films into the competition. Miss Daly was the teacher that helped us filming and sometimes Mrs Jones would also help us.

As you already know we started filming in the beginning of this term but before we did that we had to plan what we were doing. First thing we had to do was choose whether we wanted to be in film or not and then we had to get into a group of 4 and some got 5 people. Once the teachers had approved the groups we had to go do a brainstorm (Write or type down all your ideas) on the topic of the film. This years film festivals topic was Heroes. Last year was also heroes but people did it on getting bullied and then someone helping. This time it was about what heroes do but it wasn't like superman and batman heroes it was heroes in your community. When we finished we had to choose one idea to do but our group choose many and decided to put them together. At the end we had an amazing film that everyone liked we just needed to fix little bits.

We watched all the films and we got to vote and judge 1 - 50 with the marking like was it clear to hear and everything a film needs. The 3 films that got the highest vote was chosen to be presented at the Capital Cinema. It was on the 18th of September 2019. My group was chosen and Maryam's group and Noah's group was chosen. We went and had fun. The best bit was watching the other films and getting free ice Cream a a drink. There was about 5 schools there and around was around 27 films. It was very fun!

Cross Country

Kia Ora bloggers!
Welcome back to my blog. Today I will be blogging about my exhausting time at cross country. On Tuesday the 11th of September we had our cross country day. This year we are trying to fundraise for a canape that can go over our court. To help fundraise we went on the fun run site and got sponsors to help. On the cross country day we did 4 activities o show our sponsors what they help sponsor us for. The 4 activities were skipping for 15 minutes, an obstacle course, kicking goals and lastly our run that we did. My favourite activity was the running because it was a bit shorter and easier.

The first activity out of the 4 we did was kicking goals. When we were kicking goals we had to get 25 in but not in a row. I got up to 25 and then I helped our leaders holding the little goals.  I wasn't very good at kicking goals they always either missed or got blocked. I still had fun playing with my friends. Then the next activity I did was skipping. Our challenge for skipping was to skip for 15 minutes but you were allowed to stop and make mistakes. After 15 minutes we did the big rope and were allowed to skip 6 time then jump out. I had so much fun skipping though I made heaps of mistakes. The next activity was the amazing obstacle course. Miss Daly was taking it with Mr Rattunbary and bjon it was so much fun. It was on the playground and the first part of the obstacle course. I had fun and we all had a term even the year 6 leaders that took our group. The next and last activity was our run. At first I was nervous and not really wanting to do it during the race my friends that were running were encouraging. It turns out since I put some effort into it I came first and 2nd was Jaimie and third was Brittany.

I hope you liked my post here is some photos and a video!

Mt Ruapehu Camp!

Camp, My icey Journey!!❄❄

Hey bloggers and welcome back to my blog!
Today I will be blogging about my amazing time at camp! For camp we went to Mt Ruapehu and we stayed at The Crossing Backpackers lodge it was about 5 minutes away from where we stopped to swap into a shuttle. On the 20th of August to the 23rd of August we stayed at the lodge then we came back to school. We had to get to school at 7:30am with our bags so that we could leave at 8:15am. It was so much fun on the bus we said jokes and slept. We were put into groups the groups were
Green (My group), Turquoise, Pink, Orange, blue, red, purple and yellow. My group was green and the people in my group were Neeve, Genevieve, Hepi, Aarav, Sema, Apollo, and Alan but Sema didn't come. Our adults in the group were Chris, and Mala. Mala is Ishaans Mum and Chris is Brittany's Dad.

Our first stop was the Hamilton Gardens and the bus company that drove us everywhere was Johnstons coastline. It took us about an hour and a half to get there. When we did get there we all got settled down by putting our bags with our colour groups and getting something to eat. After this we got into our groups and the teachers gave us 4 papers. These papers had things that are in different gardens like statues and we had to look for them in 2 hours. We did really good and came out with time to spare. After the Hamilton gardens we went to the Edmund Hillary walkway where it had boards all about New Zealand and the special things about New Zealand. We had more papers to fill in but these papers had different boards on them with questions about each one of them. We had to read the messages and find the answers to the questions. Once we had finished we walked to a park. The park was called the new childrens Park Jim Barker. The walk was just 2 minutes and we got to play for about an hour and a half. When we left we were going to Taumarunui school for a little break since we had been driving around for ages. After we got to play for a while we went to National park and then the lodge where we would be staying.

Once that was finally over we got to have a nice hot shower and a delicious dinner which the people who worked there made. We got to walk around talk about our day and play games until bed time which was at 9:30pm and lights out was at 10:00pm. When we woke up we had to put our snow gear on and go down for breakfast. When we were all done we hopped onto the bus and left to Whakapapa (on the mountain). When we got there we got our gear for the mountain and went to have free time at the snow.
We went sledding first it was so fun and we go on the magic carpet once you are down. Then after all the fun we go and have morning tea then we went on the gondola's. It was so much fun going up because it was my fist time going on a gondola. Then we had our snowboarding lessons it was so funny because I fell over so many times. Then we had to go back to the lodge and put everything into the dryer and clean our clothes.
The next day when we went it was our last day on the mountain so we all tried to have a very fun time. We had our lessons straight away this time and this time everyone was more enthusiastic and were way better. After the lesson we ate a little and got a hot chocolate and went back outside for free time. We got free time for a few hours then we had to leave. It was so much fun on the mountain and everyone had a great time.
