Kia Ora Bloggers!
Today I will be blogging about Summer learning journey. Summer Learning Journey is a fun way to learn in the holidays. Also in the holidays it keeps your grades up in stead of going down. It is a great way to learn and have fun. This is the 2nd time I will be doing it. I really love this opportunity. It keeps you from slumping. Slumping is when your grades go low.

Activity 2
This activity is my favourite. I get to tell all you people reading my blog about where I am from and my culture. Where I originate from, What I love about my culture, What language I speak and what is special or important to me. So today I will tell you all about the great and fantastic island....... SAMOA!!! My amazing homeland which I hear is amazing. Sad thing is I have never been I was born and raised in New Zealand. Here is a little bit about this superb place!!
My Family comes from the island of Samoa. Both my parents come from Samoa. My Mum she is from Samoa but my Dad is from American Samoa. American Samoa is called this because that part of the country is owned and belongs to the America State. The important things to my family is Church. Church and the gospel is one things that is important to us. Something else that is special is our *aiga. *Aiga in English means Family. Family is the most important thing within our family. Everyone in our family means a lot to all of us. Well as you can see I am from Samoa so the native language in my county is Samoan. I, myself speak English and I know some things in Samoan like Sau ( Come ), Fa'amolemole ( Please ) ect. My Parents speak Samoan fluently since they grew up in Samoa then came to New Zealand. Sometimes when they talk they say things in Samoan and then tell me what it means after I try think what it means (Get it wrong 75% of the time). Everything I know about my culture is amazing things. My favourite thing about Samoa is the clear water. It's Amazing!
I hope all the people in Samoa are okay as there is a measles out break!
*Aiga This means family. You say it like I - ing - a
Activity 3
Hey bloggers! This activity actually has to be my favourite. For this activity I have to choose a Charity that we are interested in. Then tell you all the awesome things they do for people or animals. The one I want to do is SPCA. The reason I chose this one is because it is an amazing thing they do for animals and because I love animals.
The things that the SPCA do is amazing. They help animals that have been treated bad, injured, or just abandoned. SPCA stands for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They help animals and that is the thing I love about them. Did you know that they save 40,000 animals every year. They are really cool and something even cooler is that they don't get paid for what they do because it is a charity. SPCA also relocate animals that aren't being treated right. They call it Shelter, rehome, Reunite. They are fantastic and they relies on us to help because they don't get government support in money so when you donate you are saving the lifes of animals.
SPCA are just great people who save many animals so please donate to them!!

ReplyDeleteMy name is Eliza and I’m working as a blog commenter on the Summer Learning Journey this summer. Have you done the Summer Learning Journey before? I’m looking forward to reading your posts and the other bloggers' posts from the Ako Hiko cluster, over the next few weeks! If you want to know more about me, you can check out my blog.
Thank you for doing all of the day one activities, ka pai! The food items you’ve listed are great ideas as they sound delicious - reading your post made me hungry for my lunch! I also really like how you’ve added pictures to your post - this makes it more eye-catching and effective :)
Thanks for sharing so much about your family and your culture! I really enjoyed reading it - I didn’t know what Aiga meant, so thanks for sharing that. I visited Samoa in 2012 with my mum and had a really good time -I totally agree with what you said about the clear water, it’s so beautiful!
And thirdly, that is really interesting about the SPCA - they do some incredible work don’t they! Have you got any pets?
Next time you use images from the internet, make sure you attribute the image - this just means copy the link from where you found the image and put it next to the image on the poster, so we can see exactly where you found it :)
Thanks for posting! Have a great Tuesday.
Eliza :)
